Benchmarks

AI presentation tools, tested on the same document

Most AI slide comparisons rank templates. We rank what survives. Every test here feeds one source document and one identical prompt to two tools, exports both to PowerPoint, and scores what actually reached the slides — tables, figures, numbers, and the argument that holds them together. Both exported files are downloadable, so you can check our reading against the deck itself.

How we test

A benchmark is only worth reading if the losing side could have won. These runs hold everything constant except the tool, and publish the exported files so the scoring can be argued with.

Same source document

Both tools receive the identical file — no pre-summarising, no cleaned-up version for either side.

Same minimal prompt

“create a presentation for me”, with each product left at its own default aspect ratio and template flow.

Judged on the export

We score the exported PPTX opened in PowerPoint, not the polished web preview each tool shows you.

CriterionWeightWhat we check
Source fidelity25%Did the source tables, figures, and numbers survive the conversion?
Narrative logic25%Does the slide order work as an actual talk, not just a summary?
Subject clarity15%Is the subject explained well enough for the stated audience?
Font and export fidelity15%Does the exported PPTX render and stay editable outside the browser?
Aspect ratio10%Did the deck export at a standard presentation ratio?
Repair effort10%Estimated hands-on editing before the deck could be delivered.

Results

Scores are out of 10. Slide counts and repair times read competitor first, Tosea AI second. Repair time is an estimate of hands-on editing before the deck could be delivered — it is the number that decides whether AI generation actually saved anyone an afternoon.

Where the other tools win

Genspark scored higher than Tosea AI on the Goldman Sachs consulting deck, and needed less repair time on the eClinicalMedicine paper. Gamma embeds its theme fonts and offers editable charts that Tosea AI does not. Beautiful.ai produces cleaner low-density layouts. Slidesgo costs less per deck than anything else here. Those results are published exactly as they came out — a benchmark that never loses is a brochure, and readers can tell the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Do all the tools get the same source document?

Yes. Every tool in a given scenario receives the identical source file and the identical prompt — “create a presentation for me” — with each product left at its default aspect ratio. Nothing is prompt-engineered in favour of one tool.

How is the weighted score calculated?

Six criteria: source fidelity (25%), narrative logic (25%), subject clarity (15%), font and export fidelity (15%), aspect ratio (10%), and repair effort (10%). Scores are out of 10, and every run publishes its per-criterion reasoning.

Does Tosea AI win every benchmark?

No. Genspark scored higher on the Goldman Sachs consulting deck (8.7 vs 8.6) and needed less repair time on the eClinicalMedicine research paper (30 minutes vs 32). Both results are published unchanged.

Can I verify the results myself?

Yes. Every source document is publicly linked, and both exported PPTX files from each run are downloadable, so you can open them in PowerPoint and check the tables, figures, and fonts yourself.

Run the same test on your own document

Upload the report, manual, or paper you actually have to present, and see what reaches the slides.
